Another night, more smoky air.
5:00 PM: A very faint trace of some type of smoke is in the air. I do not know what it is. 75 degrees, sunny, gorgeous. Windows are open all over the house.
8:00 PM: No smoke yet.
9:00 PM: No smoke.
10:00 PM: Very faint wood smoke blowing in on the breeze. Yes, friends, the air in North St. Paul is getting smoky once again. A bonfire? Yard waste burning? Time will tell.
10:05 PM: Light wood smoke that smells like burning tree branches. It does not smell like bonfire logs. It did not take long for the smoke to gain intensity. Every night the air is smoky in North St. Paul.
10:50 PM: Light wood or whatever smoke continues. No chance of going to bed with the windows open tonight.
When I woke at 1 AM there was still faint wood smoke in the air. This is how the city of North St. Paul makes its citizens live.
