55 PM: A very faint trace of grass smoke is in the air. I could smell it coming in the window as I was taking care of the dishes. It did not last long.
45 PM: Very faint grass smoke at this time from a distant illegal yard waste burner.
05 PM: No smoke at this time. Fresh air.
40 PM: Very faint grass smoke is in the air.
15 PM: Fresh air for the time being.
30 PM: Faint grass smoke. Is it the same yard waste burner as earlier or a new one? Would somebody spend all afternoon illegally burning grass in small amounts or would they get all the burning done at once? In this screwy city you never can tell.
05 PM: A very faint wood or grass smoke is in the air at this time. 79 degrees, cloudy. It looks like it could rain but the rain is not forecast to come until later. The grass smoke comes and goes. I can smell it coming through the windows into the house. It isn't enough to close the windows as long as we get it in small amounts.
There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms late in the evening. It does not look like it will rain early enough to prevent the normal nightly burning in North Saint Paul, Minnesota. It looks like we will have smoky air again tonight.
00 PM: I cannot read my note for this time.
00 PM: A very faint trace of wood smoke is in the air at this time.
15 PM: No smoke.
35 PM: Faint wood smoke at this time. Wouldn't you know it.
00 PM: The air is not fresh at this time but I cannot detect what is in it.
