The first nice evening of spring was smoky as I knew it would be. If the weather is nice, the evening air is smoky almost always.
5:00 PM: No smoke. 71 degrees, no smoke. Sunny, beautiful. Another evening soon to be ruined by smoky air. The heat is off for the first time since October, the windows are open, and that means people will be burning tonight.
6:30 PM: No smoke.
11:00 PM: Very faint to faint wood smoke in the air. It is enough to require closure of windows before bed.
The air did not get really smoky until well after midnight.
