We are almost never able to sleep with the windows open at night because of the damn wood smoke in this city. If it isn't smoky when you go to bed, somebody could start a late night bonfire and smoke up your house terrible. Breathing heavy wood smoke when you are trying to sleep is very unpleasant. This has happened more times than we would have liked.
2:15 AM: Faint to light wood smoke at this time. I checked the air when I had to get out of bed. The air is smokier now than it was at midnight. A little rain is just starting to fall around this time. This makes about 10 hours of wood or grass smoke in the air.
5:00 PM: No wood smoke. 60 degrees and cloudy. Rain is in the forecast for tonight. The rain is forecast to arrive between 8 and 9 PM. If the cool temperature doesn't discourage bonfire wood smoke, the rain should. If luck goes our way and it actually rains. If it doesn't rain, it will likely be another smoky evening in North St. Paul, MN.
7:00 PM: No wood smoke yet. 60 degrees and cloudy.
Yes, somebody did some burning right before it rained.
