A Maplewood police officer falls in the line of duty

It is a sad morning. The criminal element has murdered another cop. A police officer with the department of neighboring Maplewood, MN, was killed in the line of duty around 6:30 AM this morning near Lake Phalen. The officer was responding to a reported car jacking when he was slain. Early last September, North St. Paul police officer Richard Crittenden was killed in the line of duty responding to a domestic call. A Maplewood police officer providing backup on the call was shot, too, but the bullet hit the officer's belt and not her body.
