Tuesday 10/13/2009 Air Pollution
No wood smoke this evening. It is cold, cloudy, with a temperature in the upper 30s. Nobody is going to have a bonfire when conditions are like this. I am surprised at the lack of wood smoke since the weather turned unseasonably cold. If there was a time you would expect people to use fireplaces for home heating, this is it. I am beginning to believe that people don't use fireplaces for home heating as much as they do for recreational or mood setting purposes. Everyone has their furnaces on now, even those with fireplaces and wood burning stoves.
