2:00 AM: Moderate wood smoke. The air is still very smoky. It reeks! Someone has a fire going at this late hour or did not properly extinguish it, leaving it smoldering all night long. This happens all the time. Pity. It is 61 degrees at this hour with low humidity. Would it be nice to have the windows open so the whole house is nice and cool come morning? Yes it would. But we can't! The whole house would reek of burning wood if we opened the windows! We are prisoners in our own home again in this city! None of my neighbors have their windows open at this time. I heard a neighbor's air conditioner running when I stuck my head out the door. It is 61 degrees. Nobody would need their air conditioner running when it is this cool if it were not for the damn wood smoke!
3:30 AM: Light to moderate wood smoke. The air still reeks.
8:00 AM: Faint burnt wood odor. Air still stinks. Ick.
11:00 AM: Faint burnt wood odor continues.
1:00 PM: Faint burnt wood odor continues. That makes it almost 20 hours of foul air.
7:30 PM: Light to moderate wood smoke. The air reeks of burning wood.
8:45 PM: Faint to light wood smoke.
9:00 PM: No wood smoke.
10:00 PM: No real wood smoke detected. A faint trace of something is in the air.
Midnight: No wood smoke. Air is fresh.
The air was unpolluted by wood smoke for the rest of the night.
