Wednesday 10/01/2008 Burning

7:00 PM: A neighbor has his fireplace going. Smoke is spewing out of the chimney. I went for a walk around the block. The whole neighborhood reeks because of that one guy. I saw no one else with fireplaces going other than him. He is the sole polluter at this time. It is a powerful stench. It has a strong, ammonia-like punch to it. It is terribly offensive and annoying to the nose. It turns your stomach.

Most people would cook some food to warm the house. He has to smoke up the entire neighborhood because he doesn't want to spend a buck to heat his house for the evening. All the walkers and joggers (there are several in this area every evening) have to breathe that stinky ammonia-like smoke because he's too cheap to run his furnace.

  1. An evening's worth of wood doesn't cost less than one dollar.
